This display case is made from a special type of hard mango wood (India). This type of wood is truly sustainable, as it is a byproduct of an already thriving industry: mango cultivation. Mango trees grow on a large scale in India, and the wood matures quickly: in 15 years compared to, for example, oaks (50–100 years).
Fruit production is good in the early stages of the tree's life. As it matures, production decreases. Therefore, this tree is economically less valuable on mango plantations. The solution is often: cutting down and replanting. However, the wood can be used to create beautiful pieces of furniture and accessories, thanks to its hardness and quality it offers. Thus, the forest is not just cut down.
The base of mango wood has a pleasant warm color in multiple color variations, so you may encounter the wood with subtle color deviations. It is robust, strong, and truly unique.
Maintenance: Regularly wipe with a slightly damp or dry dust cloth (preferably seamless, with a non-abrasive surface). Avoid all polishing or cleaning agents containing silicone or ammonia, which dry out natural wood. Wax the wood preferably with natural wax - it will treat the wood, give it a natural shine, and protect it from drying out. Mineral oils can be applied with a cloth.
