The Vintage Mango collection is made from a special type of hard mango tree (India). This type of wood is truly sustainable because it is a by-product of an already thriving industry: mango cultivation. Mango trees are grown on a large scale in India and the wood matures quickly: in 15 years instead of, for example, oaks (50-100 years).

Fruit production is good in the first stage of the tree's life. As it matures, production decreases. Therefore, this tree is economically less valuable in mango plantations. The solution for them is often: felling and new planting. However, the wood can be used to make beautiful pieces of furniture and accessories, thanks to its hardness and the quality it offers. So the forest is not just cut down.

The base of the mango wood has a pleasant warm color in several color variations, and therefore you may encounter subtle color variations in the wood. It is robust, solid and truly unique.

Mango wood is sanded and painted with a protective coating against water stains. The surface treatment is done in such a way that the wood retains the most original form and natural appearance. Iron joints are powder coated in a metallic color.

Maintenance: Wipe regularly with a slightly damp or dry dust cloth (preferably seamless, no rough surface). Avoid any polishes or cleaners containing silicone or ammonia, which dry out natural wood. Wax the wood preferably with natural wax - it treats the wood, gives it a natural shine and protects the wood from drying out. Mineral oils can be applied with a cloth.
