All Maze lights are handcrafted from rattan. Rattan is a climbing palm or vine that leans on trees and can grow up to 100 meters long. Most existing species of rattan grow in the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, with 70% found in Indonesia. Weaving rattan into baskets, furniture, and lamps is a specialized skill passed down from generation to generation. The Maze light collection is inspired by existing designs of vintage lamps, to which designers have added a modern touch.
